Pepsi king is a story I wrote over and over again on a typewriter — at first I wrote the story each time from memory, to challenge ideas around non-mechanical reproduction. But then I realised I was challenging nothing and decided to write something slightly different every time, while sticking to a few key themes: pepsi, a king of some kind, the desert, the forest, the winning back of free will.
